Hi, I am Pebbles. I was hearbroken when my owner had to move into a nursing home and couldn't take me. She was heartbroken too. I tried to stay with another relative, but they had really big dogs that stomped all over me, and well, it just didn't work out. So that relative called Nebraska Sheltie Rescue so they could find a better suited home for me. I was pretty timid my first week in my foster home. But I figured out these people were pretty chill. To be honest, I wasn't great at pottying outside in the past. My foster home has some old dogs who can't make it to the door fast enough. A couple are in diapers. Like a human baby. Good grief! Anyway, there are potty pads on the floor. I found those and used them right away. But once the humans showed me where the back yard was and let me out regularly enough, I don't really use them. I go where I'm supposed to.
Oh, and there is this dog in my foster home I am friends with! And guess what? She normally doesn't like other dogs. But she likes ME! She and I are about the same size and age. I am 5 years old. We play hard for a while. Run and chase each other. Then we rest for a while. Not a whole lot of tackling. Just some chasing.
Before I can be adopted I have to have this operation called SPAY. Doesn't sound like fun. I also have to go to the dentist. Other than that, I am looking forward to meeting my new people. I do hope they have a dog friend that likes me.

Fill out the online application and let the NSR people know you are interested in me!
Please note that Nebraska Sheltie Rescue requires that a placement home has a completely fenced yard in order to be considered. There are too many horrible stories about dogs getting out and having bad things happen. (For more on NSR's fence policy, see here.)
If you are interested in adopting one of our Shelties—either an available one or one that may come in the future—please fill out our online application form. If you are interested in a particular dog, there is a place to enter the doggie's name. If you are interested in being considered for any of our dogs—either ones we don't have yet or because one you are interested in is no longer available—fill out an application anyway. We will try to let you know when new dogs that match your interest become available.
When people adopt a dog from Nebraska Sheltie Rescue, they are asked to sign our adoption contract. This is so we can feel comfortable that our dogs will be going to good homes, be safe, and treated well.
Even if you are not ready to adopt a dog yet, you can view this contract to find out and decide if this is something you are willing to do. (To be honest, if you really care about doggies, none of this will come as a surprise.)
