Meet Freya!
Hi everyone. My name is Freya. I came from a puppy mill in Missouri. It was a hard life there, but it was all I knew. So coming to Nebraska changed EVERYTHING about my life. I lost most of my friends and family. I have been in foster care for several months now. I have learned to trust my foster family, but I am still shy around other humans. Once I trust you though, I will come up to you for pets and kisses. Even though I had a ruff start, I am a regular dog. Just shy!
I try to escape when I am afraid, so I need at least a 5 ft fence. I have learned to potty outside. I am doing very well walking on a leash and I am crate trained. I would love to have another dog to play with and to help me learn the ropes as to how to be a pet. No small children though please. They scare me, and I may snap.
One thing to know about me is that I have a heart murmur. The heart specialist said my heart has not been damaged by it, and many dogs with my condition live long lives. You can ask Nebraska Sheltie Rescue if you want more information on my condition.

Adoption Application
If you are interested in adopting one of our Shelties—either an available one or one that may come in the future—please fill out our online application form. If you are interested in a particular dog, there is a place to enter the doggie's name. If you are interested in being considered for any of our dogs—either ones we don't have yet or because one you are interested in is no longer available—fill out an application anyway. We will try to let you know when new dogs that match your interest become available.
Adoption Contract
When people adopt a dog from Nebraska Sheltie Rescue, they are asked to sign our adoption contract. This is so we can feel comfortable that our dogs will be going to good homes, be safe, and treated well.
Even if you are not ready to adopt a dog yet, you can view this contract to find out and decide if this is something you are willing to do. (To be honest, if you really care about doggies, none of this will come as a surprise.)
